You pick it responses

The Chiefs hiring former New England star assistants Charlie Weis and Romeo Crennel is the winning story this week in our AFC West You Pick it feature.

The other candidates were four people with extensive AFC West history --- Tim Brown, Don Coryell, Floyd Little and Shannon Sharpe –- being among the 17 finalists for induction in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and former Denver coach Mike Shanahan being named the coach in Washington.

I agree with the readers. Hiring Weis and Crennel are big-time moves by the Chiefs. These two coaches will greatly help this team. If the Chiefs become a playoff contender in the next couple of seasons, these moves may be a reason why.

Below are some of your responses. Thanks to everyone who participated:

Joe Mason from Rochester, NY: Bill the HOF class this year is one of the more talented I have seen as of late. As a raiders fan its great to see some of my favorite players of all time, Jerry Rice and Tim Brown, getting their shot at Canton. Every star from the 90's is making their way and its only a matter of time before the last great star of the decade (Favre) will start his eligibility.

Matt De Loach from Indendence, MO.: Has to be the new coordinators in KC. This city has been suffering for a winner for a long, long time my friend. We're buzzing today after Crennel.

Jacob from New York: Bill, I think it has to be Hall of Fame. I am a Broncos fan, but as a football fan I find it appalling that Shannon Sharpe didn't make it in last year. He should have been 1st Ballot all the way. 3 Super Bowl rings, and arguably one of the best Receiving TE's ever to play the game? Had he played for Dallas or Pittsburgh, no way he doesn't make it in his first year.

Jon Schellinger from Ewa Beach, Hawaii: I have to say the biggest story is the Kansas City Chiefs decisions. Pioli has done a great job preparing this team for the future, and I think it's continuing to show with the additions of Weis, and now Romeo Crennel, shows that the Chiefs are serious about the future of the franchise, and they are definitely headed in the right direction.

Tom from Houston: It has to be the Chiefs going with Charlie Weis as the coordinator. We are on the move.

Jesse from Lawrence, KS: The Chiefs got their coordinators. I love that story. This team is really trying to win.
