In a look at the worst contracts in professional sports history, Oakland Raiders fans are reminded of the JaMarcus Russell era. He is No. 1 on the list just as he was the No. 1 pick in the 2007 draft by the Raiders. He lasted three years in Oakland and he was an utter disaster.

John Clayton looked at the 10 worst current NFL contracts. It is littered with AFC West players. Just replaced Kansas City quarterback Matt Cassel is No. 5 on the list, Kansas City defensive end Tyson Jackson is No. 7 and Oakland quarterback Carson Palmer is No. 10.

There’s no doubt, this isn't a great time for the division as a whole. Stories like these are ugly reminders.
