SAN DIEGO – I had a chance to catch up with first-year San Diego general manager Tom Telesco on an assortment of topics Wednesday.
Here is a snapshot of his thoughts:
On the camp first-year coach Mike McCoy is running: "It's been crisp. Mike is really doing a good job of running the team and practice. He had a plan, but you never know how a plan is going to work. It's nice to see it being implemented."
On quarterback Philip Rivers' play in camp: "I think he's been good. There's nothing there to make me think any different. ... I don't see a quarterback in decline. I see one in his prime."
On rookie middle linebacker Manti Te'o: "He's been very instinctive. He diagnoses (plays) quickly. He is the same player he showed he was at Notre Dame."
On the offensive line: "(Position coach) Joe D'Alessandris is going a good job with them. I think we are deeper there. We have some guys with experience. I want to see us play in a few games, but I feel pretty good about them."
