Broncos preseason finale an opportunity for young players

DENVER -- The Denver Broncos will close out the preseason at 9 p.m. ET Thursday vs. the Arizona Cardinals at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. Here’s a couple things to watch for during the game:

Why watch: If you want to see the future, then this one’s for you. The Broncos will sit all of their regulars, but their younger players will be on display, such as cornerback Kayvon Webster and tackle Michael Schofield as well as quarterbacks Brock Osweiler and rookie Trevor Siemian. Also, running back Montee Ball will try to make a big impression as he tries to get some of his carries back.

Did you know: Peyton Manning has never been too busy in the preseason, but he finished his preseason work in two appearances this year with a 62.9 percent completion rate, 176 yards, no touchdowns and one interception on 35 attempts. The completion percentage, passing yards and attempts are preseason lows in his time with the Broncos. He had 42 attempts in his first preseason with the team in 2012 to go with 54 attempts in both 2013 and 2014. Manning also threw at least two touchdown passes in each of the three previous preseasons in his limited work.
