The San Diego Chargers have a hero in their midst.
Defensive lineman Logan Harrell helped find a missing hiker in his native Orange County on Wednesday after spending the day with the team in its offseason conditioning program.
An avid hiker, Harrell felt compelled to help the search for a party of missing hikers. Harrell was familiar with the trails around Trabuco Canyon. His assistance helped searchers find one of the missing hikers Wednesday night. The other was located Thursday morning.
“I’m shocked by all this attention,” Harrell told the Chargers’ website. “I think people are thinking I’m actually the person who found him. I mean, we helped find him but I didn’t actually find him. But it’s amazing that within that short amount of time that we met with that group and we split up, they found him pretty shortly after that. They’re the real heroes."
