Late AFC West notes: Raiders cut Neal

The Raiders surprisingly cut veteran fullback Lorenzo Neal. He signed with the team in the spring and he seemed like a perfect fit for Oakland's running game.

But Oren O'Neal, one of the more understated fullbacks in the league, is now healthy. His health made Neal, known as one of the best fullbacks of all-time, expendable. Neal was cut to make room for Rashad Baker, who returns to Oakland after being cut by Philadelphia.

In San Diego, Chargers star receiver Vincent Jackson will miss a short period of time with a finger injury.

The Raiders' offense bounced back some in the afternoon session against San Francisco after being dominated in the morning session. The two teams play Saturday night.
