Kansas City first-round pick, receiver Jon Baldwin, practiced on a limited basis for the second straight day Thursday. He likely won’t play Sunday, but the fact that he is getting some work in is encouraging to the Chiefs. He hasn’t practiced since reportedly hurting his thumb in a camp fight with teammate Thomas Jones.
Oakland coach Hue Jackson continued to support second-year middle linebacker Rolando McClain who has struggled some in the first two games. My thoughts? McClain is not a great player yet and he may never be a great player. But give him time. At the very least, he is a solid starter.
The Chiefs reportedly worked out former New England running back Sammy Morris as they looked at running back in light of the season-ending knee injury to Jamaal Charles. Morris was in New England with Chiefs’ general manager Scott Pioli.
The Chiefs are becoming late-night joke fodder.
