It appears Raider Nation is satisfied with the team’s decision to hire Denver defensive coordinator Dennis Allen as head coach.
Tuesday morning, we listed five choices in a poll of candidates for the job, asking readers to vote on who they wanted to become Oakland’s head coach. Tuesday night, Allen was hired by the team.
We kept the poll going into Wednesday to monitor the pulse of the voters. As of 2:15 p.m. ET Wednesday, Allen received 36 percent of the vote. Green Bay assistant Winston Moos received 29 percent, Saints’ offensive coordinator and Philadelphia offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg each had 13 percent of the vote and former Miami interim coach Todd Bowles received nine percent of the vote.
Moss was considered an early favorite, but, in the end, it was Allen who emerged as a surprise choice in Oakland and it seems like many Oakland fans are pleased with the choice. Thanks to everyone who played along.
