TEMPE, Ariz. – December has been good to Cardinals cornerback Justin Bethel.
Eight days after being named to his second straight Pro Bowl, Bethel was named the NFC special teams player of the month for December.
He had a league-high eight special teams tackles in December, five of which occurred at the 20-yard line or inside. He also forced a fumble and downed a punt at the 5-yard line.
Bethel’s eight tackles all came in a two-week span against Kansas City in Week 14 and St. Louis in Week 15.
Bethel became the second Cardinal to be named a special teams player of the month in the last 10 years, joining Patrick Peterson, who earned the honor in November 2011.
