TEMPE, Ariz. -- Rookie guard Jonathan Cooper took off his walking boot within the past two weeks and entered the next phase of his rehabilitation, he said Wednesday.
The Cardinals’ seventh-round draft pick broke his left fibula against the San Diego Chargers in an August preseason game. His rehab became more intense during the last couple of weeks as he moved from a scooter to a boot to regular shoes.
“It’s a lot of similar stuff, just turned up a little bit,” Cooper said.
Cooper still uses the boot when he’s in big crowds or knows he’ll be on his feet for long periods “just to be safe.”
He’s not in pain but Cooper is pleased with his progress.
“It’s pretty good,” he said. “Feeling a lot better than it was a couple weeks ago so I think I’m moving along well.”
