John Brown held out as precaution

GLENDALE, Ariz. – One of Arizona’s major draws during Saturday’s Fan Fest practice was watching from the sideline in shorts.

The Cardinals kept rookie wide receiver John Brown out of practice for another day, not wanting him to further injure his hamstring.

“No sense in hurting it today and then missing next week when he’s in the middle of a game week,” Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said. “Four days, he should be fine.”

Brown, who tweaked his hamstring during a reverse on the third-to-last play of Wednesday’s practice, missed Friday's practice as well. He’s not expected to practice again until early next week. The Cardinals’ next public practice is scheduled for Tuesday.

This is Brown’s second hamstring injury since he was drafted. He missed a few days during OTAs in May.

“[This is] a different one,” Arians said. “This one was kind of being grabbed and pulled off balance. Something we preach not to do. Some guys go too far in practice.”
