He landed 46 punts inside the 20-yard-line, bettering Kansas City’s Dustin Colquitt by one punt to claim the single-season mark. But Zastudil isn’t slowing down. He’s already downed seven of nine punts this season inside the 20, including four Sunday against the Lions (11, 7, 6 and 8).
Zastudil’s lone punt outside the 20 gave Detroit possession at the 21.
According to ESPN Stats and Information, Zastudil’s punts produced the second-worst field position last weekend, setting the Lions up at their own 11. That stat had Zastudil in the lead for #PunteroftheWeek as chosen by Mark Simon of ESPN Stats and Information, but Simon chose New Orleans Saints punter Thomas Morstead because of slightly-worst field position.
It should be quite the punt-off Sunday when these two strong legs square off at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
