Darnell Dockett's ACL surgery scheduled

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Darnell Dockett is to have his ACL tear surgically repaired Monday, coach Bruce Arians said.

The surgery was scheduled for 4 p.m. ET with Dr. James Andrews.

Dockett suffered the knee injury a week ago when his foot was caught in the turf during training camp at University of Phoenix Stadium. It was the first major injury of Dockett’s career, which began in 2004 when he was drafted by the Cardinals in the third round out of Florida State. Dockett has missed two games during his 10 seasons, both were because of injuries. He played in his first 104 games before a shoulder injury sidelined him in Week 9 of the 2010 season. He missed Week 4 in 2012 because of a hamstring injury.

Dockett, a three-time Pro Bowler who shares the Super Bowl sack record with Reggie White, is coming off his best season -- 59 tackles and 4.5 sacks -- in about five years.
