Flush the Pocket: Fitz school of thought

Flush the Pocket will be your daily morning dose of the Arizona Cardinals. It’ll recap the top storyline from the previous day and give you a look at what everyone is saying locally and nationally.

TEMPE, Ariz. -- There are as many ways to treat an injury as there combinations of toppings at a frozen yogurt joint.

Everyone has their preference. Some are old school, as Cardinals coach Bruce Arians pointed out Wednesday, when he said he’d opt for ice to treat a hamstring. Some are new school.

Some think sitting out a game will give a hamstring the necessary rest to prevent the injury from lingering all season. Arizona wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald doesn’t believe in that.

“I’ve never been to that school [of thought] before,” he said with a chuckle.

However he’s treating the injury, it appears to be working. Fitzgerald didn’t practice Thursday but jogged with Cardinals’ trainers during the portion that’s open to the media.

He’s determined to play Sunday in New Orleans. He feels he’s ready. But his coaches may feel differently.
