Falcons notes: Another pick-six for Ryan

TAMPA, Fla. -- The Atlanta Falcons trail the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 24-6.

Here are some notes at halftime:

Matt Ryan threw another pick-six, this one to Bucs linebacker Mason Foster. Ryan was forced to step up under pressure and just made a bad throw. He now has eight interceptions over his past four games, including two that were returned for touchdowns.

• An offensive line change seemed to spark the Falcons at the start of the game. The coaches benched right guard Garrett Reynolds, moved center Peter Konz to right guard and starter Joe Hawley at center. The move sparked the running game on the Falcons' initial drive. But when Konz got beat by Gerald McCoy for three sacks, the honeymoon was over. Konz got benched himself as Reynolds came back off the bench.

Sean Weatherspoon's return at linebacker didn't help the defense from giving up explosive plays. The Falcons surrendered a 43-yard touchdown run to Bucs fourth-string running back Bobby Rainey, who ran for 100-plus yards in the first half. The Falcons also gave up a 47-yard pass play from quarterback Mike Glennon to receiver Vincent Jackson. For the season, the Falcons have given up 16 plays of 40-plus yards.

• Procedural penalties continue to haunt the Falcons. Roddy White, Tony Gonzalez, Peria Jerry and Weatherspoon all got whistled for penalties before the snap.
