Falcons' Corey Peters returns to practice

Atlanta Falcons defensive tackle Corey Peters, who started training camp on the physically unable to perform list, returned to practice Monday.

Peters suffered an Achilles tear in last year's December loss at San Francisco. He spent the beginning of this season's training camp working with the medical staff on agility drills.

Peters said he expected to be ready for the Sept. 7 season opener against the New Orleans Saints. His return Monday was a positive step in that direction.

Peters could be a very important part of the defensive line rotation as an interior pass-rusher. The Falcons plan to use multiple looks on defense with a 3-4 look to help stop the run.
