Running backs Anthony Allen and Delone Carter were among the 11 players released by the Ravens. Allen's fate was likely sealed when he fumbled at the one-yard line in the preseason finale. Carter struggled Thursday night in his first game action since being traded from Indianapolis for David Reed.
Third-string quarterback Caleb Hanie was cut along with one draft pick, cornerback Marc Anthony (seventh round). The others released were: ILB Nigel Carr, ILB Brandon Copeland, QB Dayne Crist, OT Jordan Devey, OT Rogers Gaines, TE Alex Silvestro and C Reggie Stephens (who had a poor shotgun snap in the first half and a false start late in the fourth quarter).
The Ravens also placed outside linebacker D.J. Bryant on injured reserve. He suffered a serious knee injury at the end of the first half of Thursday night's game.
Baltimore currently has 63 players on the roster and need to make 10 more moves to get to the league limit of 53 by 6 p.m. ET Saturday.
