Ravens: No word on Hill reinstatement

OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- As three NFL players had their suspensions lifted because of a revised drug policy, Baltimore Ravens safety Will Hill's status remains unchanged.

Hill, who has four weeks remaining in his six-game suspension for violating the NFL's drug policy for a third time, continues to work out at Ravens headquarters and attend meetings. He is not allowed to practice until his suspension is over.

The Baltimore Sun reported there was "guarded optimism" that Hill's suspension would be reduced, but that would be news to the Ravens.

"No new word on Will. I really have no word on that at all," coach John Harbaugh said after Wednesday's practice. "To my knowledge, I don't think he's heard anything either. He hasn't said anything to me."

The new drug policy has ended the suspensions of Denver Broncos receiver Wes Welker, Dallas Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick and St. Louis Rams receiver Stedman Bailey. It also reduced suspensions for Cleveland Browns receiver Josh Gordon and former Colts receiver LaVon Brazill.

Hill, who started 10 games for the New York Giants last season, could press free safety Darian Stewart for playing time when he is reinstated. Hill's most recent failed test was for marijuana in April.
