The Baltimore Ravens signed nine players to reserve-future contracts, including a couple quarterbacks, as they build their 90-man offseason roster.
Here are the latest additions to the Ravens' roster:
*QB Keith Wenning: He was a sixth-round draft pick out of Ball State who spent the entire 2014 season on the practice squad. Wenning improved throughout the summer and he showed potential by the preseason finale. He finished 10 of 17 for 140 yards for a 85.4 passer rating in the preseason. With Tyrod Taylor entering free agency, Wenning could become the primary backup to Joe Flacco.
QB Bryn Renner: He went undrafted last season after being a three-year starter at North Carolina. Renner was signed by the Denver Broncos, but he was released at the end of August after not throwing a pass in the preseason. He was out of football last season. Renner is considered tough and competitive with average arm strength.
DB Victor Hampton: He was signed by the Cincinnati Bengals after going undrafted and spent time on the New York Giants' practice squad. Hampton is versatile enough to play corner and safety. Some teams reportedly took him off their draft board because of character concerns.
*CB Quinton Pointer: He's bounced around from the St. Louis Rams to Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the Ravens. Pointer is a hard-working, smart and physical player who has an extensive injury history.
*OT Marcel Jones: The Ravens signed the 6-foot-7, 320-pound Jones to their practice squad after he was released by the New Orleans Saints in September. A seventh-round pick by the Saints in 2012, Jones has intriguing raw ability but he has had trouble staying healthy.
*TE Allen Reisner: Undrafted in 2011, Reisner has played for four teams in four seasons (Minnesota, Jacksonville, New England and the Ravens). He's known for being a high motor player who doesn't have the prototypical physical tools for the position.
*TE Konrad Reuland: He played 26 games for the New York Jets in 2012 and 2013, including three starts. Reuland made 11 catches in 2012. He was signed to the Ravens' practice squad in November but ended the season on injured reserve with a foot injury.
*FB Kiero Small: He's a hometown product who played at Baltimore's Cardinal Gibbons High School. A seventh-round pick by the Seattle Seahawks in 2014, he went on to make three starts for the Cleveland Browns before ending up on the Ravens' practice squad by mid-November.
DE Zach Thompson: The undrafted rookie spent the summer with the Jets before being cut and getting signed to the Broncos' practice squad. Thompson spent a week on the Ravens' practice squad in December. He's undersized but has shown explosiveness as a pass-rusher.
The Ravens won't have to cut down their roster to 53 players until the start of the 2015 regular season.
