OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- The Baltimore Ravens claimed wide receiver Vince Mayle off waivers Friday and placed leading tackler Zachary Orr on injured reserve.
Mayle, a 2015 fourth-round pick by the Cleveland Browns, has been primarily a contributor on special teams. Nicknamed "Little LeBron" because he resembles the four-time NBA MVP LeBron James, Mayle played 36 offensive snaps in six games for the Cowboys this season and didn't see a single target.
In 2015, Mayle was the 17th wide receiver taken in the draft but he was among the Browns' final cuts that year after dropping too many passes in training camp.
To make room for Mayle, the Ravens put Orr on IR, which ended a strong season for the first-time starter. Orr entered training camp as a backup, but he soon supplanted second-round pick Kamalei Correa in the starting lineup. He finished with 130 tackles -- which are 45 more than anyone else on defense.
Orr, who hurt his neck last Sunday against Pittsburgh, didn't practice all week and on Friday was declared out of Sunday's season finale.
