Tony Jefferson backs up his word in giving back No. 21 to Lardarius Webb

The Baltimore Ravens certainly know safety Tony Jefferson is a man of his word.

After saying he would give back jersey No. 21 to Lardarius Webb if he re-signed, Jefferson did just that on Monday when he announced on Twitter that he would switch to No. 23. It's a strong sign of respect from Jefferson, who is supplanting Webb at starting safety.

Webb, who agreed to a three-year deal with Baltimore on Saturday, has worn No. 21 since joining the Ravens in 2009.

This wasn't the only number change. Cornerback Tavon Young decided to give up No. 23 to Jefferson and take No. 25, which was last worn by Tray Walker. No one wore No. 25 last season in honor of Walker, who died in a dirt bike accident in March 2016.

All of these jersey changes appear to have been the result of amicable decisions. The only ones who might be upset are those who went out and bought Jefferson's No. 21 jersey.
