OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Baltimore Ravens safety Tony Jefferson donated $20,000 to a hurricane relief fund started by Miami Dolphins linebacker Kiko Alonso.
It's been nearly two weeks since Puerto Rico was hit by Hurricane Maria. Still, only 7 percent of the island has power and less than half the population has access to potable water.
"I don't think it's getting enough attention about what's going on over there," Jefferson said. "They're really left with nothing."
Jefferson grew up with a couple Puerto Rican friends who still can't get in contact with their loved ones.
"I feel like I needed to do that," Jefferson said. "I just want to do anything I can to help."
