The Baltimore Ravens hired their third offensive coordinator in 13 months when they named Gary Kubiak to that position Monday.
I like the hire. When looking at the other candidates out there, I thought Kubiak was clearly their best option. He has a history of getting the most out of his quarterbacks and developing strong running games.
But Kubiak is coming off a disastrous season as the Houston Texans head coach. He didn't even finish the season, getting fired after the Texans fell to 2-11. The Texans finished second-to-last in scoring last season.
There is also the issue with Kubiak's health. He suffered a transient ischemic attack, or "mini-stroke," on Nov. 3 while walking off the field at halftime of a loss against Indianapolis. Kubiak said Monday that he's fine and has resumed working out.
So, how do you feel about the hiring of Kubiak? After submitting your vote, send me your thoughts to the Ravens mailbag. Your comments could be used on the blog later this week just like these readers last week.
