A year ago at this time, the Baltimore Ravens were coming off a Super Bowl title and the running back position was considered a strength.
Things have certainly changed.
The Ravens' top two running backs, Ray Rice (3.1) and Bernard Pierce (2.9), ranked in the bottom four in yards per carry last season. They combined for three runs over 20 yards and six rushing touchdowns. There are questions about whether Rice is done as a premier running back and whether Pierce can stay healthy.
Off the field, Rice was arrested and charged Friday night in an incident involving his fiancée in Atlantic City and Pierce is expected to miss offseason workouts after undergoing shoulder surgery.
Assistant general manager Eric DeCosta told The Baltimore Sun last month that the team needs depth at running back and referred to it as a position of need.
How would you prioritize the running back position for the Ravens? After you have vote, give me your thoughts about the Ravens' running backs by dropping me a line in my mailbag. It could be used on the blog later in the week.
