Big 12 Week 6 picks: Showdown in Fort Worth highlights big week

Here are the Week 6 Big 12 picks from my colleague Sam Khan and me (all times ET). Visit our college football PickCenter page for additional information on these games and many more.

Iowa State at No. 3 Oklahoma, noon (Fox)

Khan: Oklahoma has won 14 straight, and Iowa State is 0-17 in road games against AP top-three opponents. Expect both trends to continue as the Sooners roll. Oklahoma 42, Iowa State 14

Trotter: Oklahoma's secondary looked shaky last time out in Waco, but Iowa State couldn't do anything through the air last week against Texas. Oklahoma 41, Iowa State 17

Texas Tech at Kansas, noon (FS1)

Khan: The Red Raiders acquitted themselves well against Oklahoma State. A similar effort this week should net a convincing win against the Jayhawks. Texas Tech 51, Kansas 20

Trotter: Kansas usually plays Texas Tech tough, but Tech is much improved from last season, especially on the defensive side. Texas Tech 42, Kansas 21

No. 23 West Virginia at No. 8 TCU, 3:30 p.m. (FS1)

Khan: Gary Patterson is 17-0 at home when TCU is ranked in the top 10. Oh, and the Horned Frogs get Kyle Hicks back. TCU 34, West Virginia 27

Trotter: Will Grier and David Sills can move the ball. But TCU might have one of the two best defenses in the Big 12, and Kenny Hill is playing out of his mind. TCU 31, West Virginia 21

Kansas State at Texas, 7 p.m. (FS1)

Khan: The Longhorns' defense gets it done again and holds off the Wildcats. Texas 24, Kansas State 19

Trotter: This will be an absolute slugfest. K-State has been underwhelming so far. But Bill Snyder teams always get better. This is the week the Wildcats begin to turn it around. Kansas State 20, Texas 17

RECORDS

Trotter: 28-8

Khan: 29-7
