Big 12 Week 9 picks: Big game in Ames for TCU, Iowa State

Here are the Week 9 Big 12 picks from my colleague Jake Trotter and me (all times ET). Visit our college football PickCenter page for additional information on these games and many more.

Texas at Baylor (Noon, ESPNU)

Trotter: Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger is banged up, and Baylor couldn’t be more due for a victory after taking Oklahoma and West Virginia to the wire. Baylor 16, Texas 14

Khan: This does seem like a ripe opportunity for Baylor, but I can't bet against Texas' defense. What it did against Oklahoma State was impressive. I'll bet the Longhorns can do it again. Texas 23, Baylor 20

Oklahoma State at West Virginia (Noon, ABC)

Trotter: We know West Virginia coach Dana Holgorsen will put the game in quarterback Will Grier’s hands. After watching Oklahoma State hand off over and over into a wall in Austin, who knows if Mike Gundy will do the same with Mason Rudolph. West Virginia 34, Oklahoma State 30

Khan: West Virginia will try to do defensively to Oklahoma State what Texas did from a scheme standpoint, but the Cowboys will have a better plan for it this time around. No way they're held to less than 20 again. Oklahoma State 42, West Virginia 35

Kansas State at Kansas (3 p.m., FS1)

Trotter: After taking a step forward last year, it’s been disappointing to watch the Jayhawks take two steps back. Plus, K-State seems to have found something with QB Alex Delton. Kansas State 41, Kansas 7

Khan: Kansas hasn't scored a point in two weeks. They'll show some more fight, but the Wildcats will roll. Kansas State 48, Kansas 13

TCU at Iowa State (3:30 p.m., ABC/ESPN2)

Trotter: Jack Trice will be rocking for what just might be the biggest home game in Iowa State history. The Cyclones will hang tough. But in the end, TCU’s speed will be too much. TCU 31, Iowa State 23

Khan: The Horned Frogs need to play a clean game to come out of Ames with this one. I'm not convinced they will. Cyclones with the upset. Iowa State 27, TCU 24

Texas Tech at Oklahoma (8 p.m., ABC/ESPN2)

Trotter: Baker Mayfield has saved his best for his former team, and there’s no reason to expect anything less again. Oklahoma 49, Texas Tech 31

Khan: The Red Raiders are reeling, and having to go to Norman is not exactly the best way to right the ship. A tough road trip against an explosive Sooners team is a tough ask. Oklahoma 56, Texas Tech 34

Trotter: 39-11

Khan: 39-11
