Last week, the Big 12 was in a "virtual tie" with the Pac-10 and Big Ten for college football's second-best conference.
Thanks to Texas' loss to UCLA and subsequent fall from the top 15, it now ranks fourth, solidly behind both conferences.
ESPN Stats and Info compiles the data from computer polls and the AP poll to rank the conferences, and splits the data between the two.
In the AP poll, the Mountain West conference ranks fourth, ahead of the Big 12 in fifth place. Among the computers, the Big 12 ranks second behind the SEC.
"They were close to overtaking the SEC in the computer rankings entering the week, but now are close to being overtaken for second by the Pac-10," Albert Larcada writes.
