It's official: The Baylor Bears are bowl-eligible. That's cause for celebration in Waco.
Baylor knocked off No. 22 Kansas State, 47-42, at Floyd Casey Stadium to move to 6-2, earning a precious sixth win for the first time since 1995, when a 7-4 Baylor team was left out of a bowl game.
This time around, don't expect the same treatment. The Bears schedule gets rough through the rest of the year with games against Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas A&M, but after the Longhorns performance Saturday, Baylor could reasonably add a pair of other wins to finish 8-4.
If that happens, every single ballot for coach of the year should have Art Briles name on it.
Robert Griffin, the team's quarterback and leader, has talked since the spring about this team's goal -- that sixth win and beyond.
Tonight, they achieved it.
