Cyclones' mistakes too much to overcome

Iowa State offensive coordinator Tom Herman's no-huddle offense took a big step back in its second game.

The Cyclones self-destructed with six turnovers as Iowa claimed a 35-3 victory and turned around the Cyclones' recent success at Jack Trice Stadium in the Cy-Hawk Rivalry.

Tyler Sash tied a school record with three of Iowa's five interceptions and Ricky Stanzi blistered the ISU defense for four touchdown passes.

Also give a lot of credit to wily Iowa coordinator Norm Parker, whose defense has held Iowa State without a touchdown for the last 14 quarters.

Iowa State quarterback Austen Arnaud threw four interceptions before he was pulled from the game late in the third quarter in favor of freshman Jerome Tiller.

I'm curious if Iowa State coach Paul Rhoads will consider this a one-game abberation or whether Tiller might have a chance for more meaningful playing time.

We'll have to see about that.
