Lay down? Not tonight, or not yet for KU?

Kansas entered tonight's game as a five-touchdown underdog to No. 3 Oklahoma.

After last week's 42-point loss to Oklahoma State and OU's 38-point drubbing of Texas, there wasn't much reason to believe Kansas had a chance.

The Jayhawks, though, are hanging in while Landry Jones has looked average through the first quarter.

A play after a scary injury to Jeremiah Hatch, James Sims caught an awkward pitch from Jordan Webb and took it 56 yards for a touchdown that got the Jayhawks to within 10-7.

Can Kansas keep it up?

I'm guessing no, but through almost an entire quarter, the progress is impossible to ignore. A great sign for Turner Gill, too, who hasn't had his team quit on him.

Last week, Kansas trailed Oklahoma State 35-7 at the end of the first quarter.

Jones is just 4-of-11 for 71 yards and a touchdown.
