Ugly injury on first play for Sooners

Oklahoma running back Dominique Whaley, the Big 12's No. 3 rusher, suffered an ugly left leg injury on the game's first play and had to be carted off the field.

Kansas State linebacker Arthur Brown fell on the back of Whaley's legs, and he went down in pain quickly.

Whaley, a walk-on, had emerged as the Sooners' top running back this season, but sat out last week's loss to Texas Tech after coach Bob Stoops said he was too weak from the flu.

You hate to see an injury bring a story like Whaley's to an end, but we'll see what the official word is on the injured Sooner.
