Here's the release:

Washington State University and Baylor have moved their football game up to Friday, Sept. 12, and will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. CT in order to avoid complications caused by the approach of Hurricane Ike to the Texas Coast this weekend.

The game, originally scheduled to be played Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and to be televised nationally on Fox Sports Net, posed potential travel problems to fans, the Washington State travel party as well as FSN's crew, the large majority of whom are from the Greater Houston area.

"We looked at all alternatives to be able to play this game," said Washington State University Director of Athletics Jim Sterk. "Obviously this is not the ideal situation but is the best scenario at this point given the unpredictability of the hurricane and keeping in mind the safety of all involved."

Details on possible television broadcast or video webcast of the game are being explored and will be announced as soon as possible. All updates will be posted immediately to wsucougars.com and BaylorBears.com.
