KSU leans on ground game for easy victory

It was exactly the kind of game that Kansas State needed to shake out of the lethargy of back-to-back losses to Louisiana-Lafayette and UCLA.

And while Tennessee Tech and Watson Brown will never be confused with his little brother's team down in Austin, the Wildcats won't complain too much.

KSU's 49-7 victory played out exactly how I expected it to. The Wildcats leaned on their ground game to the tune of 333 rushing yards. Daniel Thomas rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns. Three other players added rushing touchdowns.

And Brandon Banks made history with two kickoff returns for touchdowns and accounted for 300 yards with receptions and returns.

It was exactly the kind of game the Wildcats needed to get ready for next week's Big 12 opener against Iowa State at Kansas City.
