Breaking down Big 12 recruiting

Colleague Damon Sayles is on the ground in the recruiting game and offers up his analysis for the Big 12Insider in our ESPN Insider update.

You can see a breakdown of each class, as well as a look at what may be coming over the next eight days before players can sign their official letters of intent.

A quick taste:

Don't be surprised if: Oklahoma has more decommitments due to defensive coordinator Brent Venables leaving to accept a similar position at Clemson. Safety Eric Striker (Seffner, Fla./Armwood) was one of the athletes recruited by Venables, who also built a nice relationship with several athletes before leaving. It will be interesting to see how new defensive coordinator Mike Stoops can be influential in the recruiting game with signing day rapidly approaching. In their three losses last season, the Sooners allowed an average of 42.3 points per game. Oklahoma will need some key contributors defensively if it wants to stay competitive in the Big 12.

You'll need Insider to see the full post, but it's a good look at what you can expect on the recruiting trail in the Big 12 and if you haven't been paying attention, what you've missed.
