Kansas State is the Fiesta Bowl National Team of the Week, the Football Writers Association of America announced on Monday.
The Wildcats beat then-No. 6 Oklahoma and ascended to No. 7 in the polls, up eight spots from last week.
K-State's 24-19 win in Norman was just the fourth loss since 1999 for the Sooners at home, and the Wildcats became the first ranked team to ever beat Bob Stoops at home. This week is the first time since a win over Texas in 2007 that the Wildcats had earned national team of the week designation.
The Wildcats turned three turnovers into 17 points and rallied from a 13-10 deficit to a 24-13 lead. Kansas State is off this week before hosting rival Kansas in the Sunflower Showdown in Manhattan next week.
