KSU takes to the ground to snatch early lead

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Kansas State figured to attack the Nebraska from the opening kickoff with its ground game.

Bill Snyder didn't disappoint us.

Leading rusher Daniel Thomas accounted for five of the first 10 plays on KSU's 58-yard possession en route to a 3-0 lead.

The bruising 227-pounder steadily moved the pile, keeping the Wildcats ahead of the sticks until a key third-down procedure penalty by Kenneth Mayfield help grind the drive to a halt.

KSU needs to follow exactly this game plan. It helped account for 5 1/2 minutes and an early lead.
