Aggies have the momentum after stopping Texas' fake punt

COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Texas A&M got another momentum break when it halted a fake punt by Texas deep in A&M territory to end the Longhorns’ first possession.

A crunching tackle by Trent Hunter stopped Texas punter Justin Tucker a yard short of the first down. The fake punt was a reverse option pitch, but the Aggies snuffed it out.

Texas A&M was utilizing a safety blitz more than it has all season. The Aggies were also featuring some pass coverages that appeared to be new for this game.

Mike Sherman and the Aggies couldn’t have asked for a better start.
