Kansas, Oklahoma remain in hunt for DE Geneo Grissom

Three-star defensive end Geneo Grissom (Hutchinson, Kan.) has canceled his scheduled Jan. 23 recruiting trip to LSU, ESPN affiliate Web site TheShiver.com reports.

Grissom, who remained committed to Kansas through the coaching change to Turner Gill, will now make his final decision between the Jayhawks and Oklahoma.

DT Byran Jones

Junction City, AR

Scouts Grade: 78

Position Rank: 44

Three-star defensive tackle Byran Jones (Junction City, Ark.) remains intrigued with Auburn, where he will officially visit this weekend, with ESPN affiliate Web site AuburnUndercover.com.

"Auburn being Auburn is what made me want to take a visit there," Jones said. "Coach Rocker, Coach Thig and Coach Malzahn, just the way those guys treated me had me interested in Auburn. They are pretty good guys."

Jones already visited Louisiana Tech and plans to make officials to Ole Miss (Jan. 22) and Arkansas (Jan. 29). He does not claim a leader.

Baylor, Mississippi State and Oklahoma among others have also extended scholarship offers.

S Xavius Boyd

St. Petersburg, FL

Lakewood Senior H.S.

Scouts Grade: 40

Safety/linebacker Xavius Boyd of Lakewood (St. Petersburg, Fla.) has committed to Western Kentucky for the Class of 2010.

His brother, Bar'ee, also chose the Hilltoppers.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Xavius chose WKU over offers from Iowa State, Florida International, Indiana and South Alabama.
