Here’s an interesting statistical nugget I came up with the other night while doing some researching for what to watch.
Landry Jones’ early prowess as a freshman starter has become quite apparent. He’s leading all freshmen quarterbacks in touchdown passes. And quite frankly, it’s not even close.
Jones would be in line to become Oklahoma’s second quarterback in the last three seasons to lead all of the nation’s freshmen in touchdown passes. Sam Bradford threw 36 touchdown passes to lead all freshmen quarterbacks in 2007.
Jones likely won’t reach that figure unless he has a huge finish to his season. But he’s still had a strong year, as the statistics show.
