Quick note about Landry Jones' record-setting performance

Oklahoma quarterback Landry Jones tossed his way into the history book today by blistering Tulsa for six touchdown passes in the Sooners' 45-0 victory, tying an NCAA record for most touchdown passes by a freshman.

The record matched a national record set twice previously. Indiana's Bob Hoernschemeyer accomplished the feat Oct. 9, 1943, against Nebraska. And Luke McCown of Louisiana Tech threw six touchdown passes against Louisiana-Lafayette on Oct. 14, 2000.
