Heisman finalists Ndamukong Suh of Nebraska and Colt McCoy of Texas are among five Big 12 players who were selected to the Football Writers All-America team announced Saturday.
McCoy, who was chosen by the FWAA last season, becomes the first back-to-back All-America quarterback since Ty Detmer of BYU in 1990 and 1991.
Other Big 12 players to be selected include Oklahoma State tackle Russell Okung, Texas safety Earl Thomas and Oklahoma defensive tackle Gerald McCoy.
Only the Southeastern Conference had more players selected than the five Big 12 selections.
The team is led by three Alabama players and two players apiece from Texas and Florida.
