Former Louisville coaches to reunite at Arkansas

Arkansas is quickly becoming Louisville South.

Former Cardinals head coach John L. Smith is reportedly set to join Bobby Petrino as a defensive assistant at Arkansas today, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. Petrino was Smith's offensive coordinator at Louisville before eventually succeeding him as head coach. Smith has been hosting a sports talk radio show in Louisville since his ouster at Michigan State.

This has got to cause Cardinals fans some mixed emotions, as both coaches were very successful during their time at Louisville but had controversial exits. As current coach Steve Kragthorpe has struggled to an 11-13 record, though, his predecessors have become more popular in hindsight for some fans.
