Pitt's Lee named Big East's top scholar-athlete

Pittsburgh kicker Conor Lee was named the Big East's football scholar-athlete of the year today by the conference's academic affairs committee.

A graduate student, Lee will receive a $2,000 scholarship that may be applied to graduate or professional studies. Lee led the Big East kickers with 98 points and converted a school record 20 field goals on 24 attempts. He finished his career perfect on all 112 PATs.

Lee was one of 95 players chosen to the all-academic team. Syracuse had the most members on the team with 16.

Some of the prominent names on the list include Cincinnati's DeAngelo Smith, UConn's Tyler Lorenzen, Louisville's Eric Wood, Rutgers' Jamaal Westerman and West Virginia's Ryan Stanchek.
