Big East lunchtime links: Rodriguez reflects

Rich Rodriguez tells the Charleston Daily Mail that he still loves West Virginia.

"I miss a lot of folks," Rodriguez told the Daily Mail's Jake Stump. "It's my home. It's always been my home. I don't know what kind of perceptions are out there, but I love West Virginia. The support I had there for seven years was just unbelievable."

Rodriguez admits there are things he could have done differently before leaving for Michigan.

"It would've taken time to answer everything being said or done, and I didn't do that," he said. "Maybe I should have. You look back and Rita [his wife] and I talk about this. Let's sit down, talk and explain. But people still would have been mad because you left."

• Scheduling has been the theme around here all week, and the Hartford Courant's Desmon Conner talks to athletic director Jeff Hathaway about the Connecticut Huskies' scheduling practices, including that upcoming Notre Dame series.

• A defensive tackle recruit was denied admission to South Florida and will head elsewhere, Greg Auman reports in the St. Petersburg Times.
