The Sporting News' Matt Hayes lists his top five coaches in college football. No. 1 is no surprise: Urban Meyer. Then there's Nick Saban, Pete Carroll and Bob Stoops. Checking in among this lofty company at No. 5 is Cincinnati's Brian Kelly.

• Neill Woelk of the Boulder (Colo.) Daily Camera comes up with a new "super league" for college football, with eight conferences of eight teams for a total of 64. But Big East fans won't like this: He suggests dropping Cincinnati and Connecticut, among others, while adding schools like Tulsa and East Carolina.

• Jeff Lippman of CBSSports.com previews the Big East from a fantasy perspective. His top performers include Tony Pike, Matt Grothe, Mardy Gilyard and Jarrett Brown.
