Rutgers, Syracuse next for Yankee Stadium games?

Posted by ESPN.com's Brian Bennett

Notre Dame and Army made it official today, confirming their long talked-about game at the new Yankee Stadium for 2010.

This isn't just a one-time deal. Yankees officials said there will be more games in the future at the baseball park but wouldn't say which teams would be involved.

However, the New York Post reports that Rutgers will play Army at Yankee Stadium in 2011 and in another undetermined stadium. Syracuse is also in the mix for a future game there.

Having Rutgers and Syracuse involved would give the game strong regional appeal. Of course, it also means one side will lose a home game, and if that's Army, the visitors miss out on the bucolic setting at West Point. And while Notre Dame's game there next season will surely create lots of excitement and attention, the uniqueness of the setting will quickly wear off the more games are played there.

Still, it's New York City and one of the most famous addresses in the world.

If you're a fan of Syracuse or Rutgers (or anybody else, really), would you want to see your team play in Yankee Stadium? Or would you rather keep a pure college football atmosphere?
