Sanders won't be suspended, may start for WVU

Jock Sanders has served his time for his February DUI arrest, West Virginia head coach Bill Stewart has decided.

Sanders was suspended and banned from all team activities after the arrest until the start of training camp, and there was speculation that the receiver/running back could be held out of Saturday's opener against Liberty for at least a half as further punishment.

But Stewart said today that Sanders is fully reinstated and will likely start at slot receiver, as well as on punt returns.

"I've thought about this for a long, long time," Stewart said at his afternoon press conference. "I've taken that young man to the woodshed so often, as my daddy used to take me ... But he's been through the grinder and he's done everything we asked him to do."

Stewart also said that Sanders would be available to talk to the media for the first time since his arrest after Saturday's game.

"I just thought I'd throw that out there on Jock's behalf. He'll be available after the game to talk to you."
