Big East bowl projections: Week 10

Welcome back, Louisville.

BCS, Discover Orange Bowl: Cincinnati vs. ACC. The Bearcats are now 3-0 in league play after coming from behind yet again in a win over Pitt. They have the easiest road to making it to the BCS game because Louisville is the only team with one conference loss, and that came against the Bearcats.

Champs Sports Bowl: Notre Dame. The Irish are 6-3, and I still think would be the most attractive option for this game in Orlando. Remember, the Champs Sports Bowl can take Notre Dame once in a four-year cycle provided it is 7-5 or better.

Belk Bowl: West Virginia vs. ACC. The Mountaineers have dropped two Big East games, but they are a good geographic fit here and I think would be a good match.

New Era Pinstripe Bowl: Rutgers vs. Big 12. The Scarlet Knights are bowl eligible after missing out last season and are a perfect option for the New York bowl.

BBVA Compass Bowl: Louisville vs. SEC. The Cardinals have won three straight, and it is quite possible that they win out. Their final three games: home to Pitt, then at UConn and at USF. None of those teams have winning records. They definitely win at least one of those to become bowl eligible.

Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl: Syracuse vs. Conference USA. This one is a toss-up right now between Syracuse and USF. The Orange will become bowl eligible with one more win. But USF has dropped four straight and needs to win two of its final four at Syracuse, then home to Miami, Louisville and West Virginia. That could happen, but I do not have a lot of confidence that it does right now.
