USF to wear special uniforms

You know you love them. You know you want to have them.

Special edition helmets. Last week, Rutgers had a block R in a stars and stripes pattern on a white helmet. Louisville also had its Cardinal in stars and stripes.

This week, USF goes camo with its Under Armour Wounded Warrior Project uniforms and helmets. The Aqua Tech helmets made by Schutt are pretty cool, with a camouflage theme and the green Bulls logo.

The Wounded Warrior Project is a non-profit organization that honors and members of the armed forces who have been injured in the line of duty.

Game jerseys will be auctioned on the USF website next week and all proceeds will go to the non-profit.

"This is an opportunity for us to pay tribute to so many men and women in the military services and what they do on a day to day basis to allow us to sleep with a head on our pillow free at night and in a free society," coach Skip Holtz said. "It's an honor for us to have the opportunity to wear these uniforms and honor the men and women in the military."

Holtz said he planned to unveil the uniforms to his players before Saturday because, "we don't want to be a bunch of giddy school girls in the locker room before the game talking about how fresh this uniform looks."
