Dave Hooker of ESPN Recruiting Nation has a quick update on how West Virginia is doing on the recruiting trail now that it has a stable conference home in the Big 12.
Coach Dana Holgorsen tells Hooker that negative recruiting against his program has stopped.
"They were getting bombarded by people saying we didn't have a home, about how the Big East was imploding," Holgorsen told Hooker. "You've heard all the negative stuff that was being said about the Big East. It was negative. Then when it was announced we were going to the Big 12, it kind of squashed all that, because we did have a home and we did have a future."
The move could also mean some advantages in recruiting the state of Texas. Two of its highest-rated prospects are from Texas: quarterback Ford Childress from Houston Kinkaid and defensive end Noble Nwachukwu from Wylie High School.
